Why We Built This Site
West Virginia separates public access by court and record type. WVPASS offers eligible public Circuit Court documents, while MCRSearch displays Magistrate case information but not the filed document images. Family files, municipal matters, recorded county instruments, and federal cases use different custodians. Explaining those boundaries reduces misdirected requests, such as sending Circuit pleadings to the County Clerk or trying to locate a Magistrate citation in the wrong search tool.
What You Will Find Here

- Court dates and settings: how to read the court calendar and confirm a hearing date or setting
- Case lookups: how to run a case search by party name or case number through the statewide portal
- Record requests: how court records and certified copies are requested from the clerk of court
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately operated reference resource, with no affiliation to a West Virginia court, clerk, or public agency. Its role has firm limits:
- It cannot retrieve an official docket sheet or case file
- It cannot confirm, change, or reset a hearing date
- It cannot amend, seal, or remove a docket entry
- It cannot certify a copy of an order, docket, or filing
- It cannot provide advice about a particular legal matter
- It cannot promise that a fee, contact detail, or setting remains current
An official or certified docket or court record must come from the clerk or court that maintains the original. This resource can identify that office, but cannot issue its documents.
Search Partners
Third-party companies supply search boxes that appear on some pages. Each provider controls its service, results, and prices. A paid enrollment reached through one of those tools may generate a referral fee that supports public access to this resource. Mineral County Court Docket does not set the provider's charges or determine which records its results display.
